The Southwest Area Incident Management Team 4 will host a community meeting for the Venado Fire at 6:00 p.m. today, July 26, at the Jemez Springs Public Library, located at 30 Village Plaza, Jemez Springs, NM 87025. The meeting will be livestreamed on the Santa Fe National Forest Facebook page for those unable to attend in-person: www.facebook.com/SantaFeNF/. General Information: Although the Venado Fire is currently burning on the Santa Fe National Forest, fire managers recognize the potential for westward growth onto Pueblo of Jemez lands. In anticipation of the fire’s movement, the Pueblo of Jemez joined the Santa Fe National Forest in delegating authority to Steve Millert’s team to manage the incident.
