County Update On Cajete Fire Evacuated Animals

Los Alamos County just issued an update on evacuation efforts for animals displaced by the Cajete Fire burning in the Jemez.

Several dogs have already been reunited with their owners and housing continues for a variety of other animals.
Owners are asked to stop by the Los Alamos County Animal Shelter and pick up their animals if they are able to return home at this point, or, to call the Animal Shelter 505-662.8179 and give the staff an anticipated pick up time. This would help staff in planning for volunteers and food needed to continue to take care of the animals, as well as making plans for a return to normal operations and ability to take in animals for adoption.
