White Rock family was camping March 27 and their beloved dog got away. It is a brown, male, Britney spaniel with a collar and tags and is chipped. Dog's name is Gunner, and he is reluctant to go to men or women wearing hats. The owners have been looking every day, but no luck yet.

If you saw this dog anywhere, please contact the owners, he is the dog of their 8 year old son and he is heartbroken.

They’re back to where they belong. More Bighorn sheep have just been shipped to the Jemez Mountains by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. The latest group, 34 strays from the Wheeler Peak herd, has joined a herd of 45 or so in the Cochiti Canyon area that were released there in the Fall of 2014.

JEMEZ RANGER DISTRICT, SANTA FE NATIONAL FOREST

The Jemez Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest is seeking candidates for the Southwest Wildland Fire Fighters Crew (SWFF.) The SWFF crew is composed of A/D positions that work under emergency hire conditions. Applicants must be 18 years or older and be able to pass an arduous pack test.

Previously red-carded individuals are strongly encouraged to apply. New applicants are welcome; however, training classes will be held at the discretion of the Jemez Ranger District.
