The hoses that were laid a few days earlier in the canyon were used to provide sprinklers for building protection. Although fire is near some of the structures in the Holy Ghost Canyon no structures have burned. A spot fire on the NE side of Holy Ghost canyon grew to about 250 acres. Helicopters and a Single Engine Airtanker dropped 35,000 gallons of fire retardant most of the day to slow its growth until fire behavior forced aircraft to disengage....
