Acres: 1,906 Start date: May 31, 2013 Cause: Under Investigation Location: 10 miles north of Jemez, NM on Hwy 4 Containment: None Fuels: Mixed conifer and Ponderosa pine Terrain: Steep, rugged Resources: 6 crews, 9 engines, 3 water tenders, 2 dozers Total personnel: 312 Available air support: 4 helicopters Summary: Today was a transition day from the Type 3 Incident Management Team to the Arizona Central West Zone Type 2 Team. There was moderate fire behavior on the fire today due to increased relative humidity and cloud cover. Firelines on the west were improved north along Valles Caldera (VC) Road 08, and east along VC Road 06. Crews conducted burnout operations in the southwest corner of the fire tying into VC Road 02. Firefighters were also engaged in preparing structure protection around private buildings in Sulfur and Sulfur Springs subdivisions.
