Good morning folks,
A resident from SLP contacted the Jemez Ranger District to open the slash pit. Thanks to his efforts, the USFS is opening the Thompson Ridge slash pit on Saturday, July 14th for residue slash from the wind event. In order to be allowed in, you must call the Jemez Office to discuss particulars and acquire a permit.

If there are folks in the subdivision interested in accessing the slash pit with their clean-up efforts from the blowdown, they just need to call the District (829-3535) and discuss their situation with me so I can determine if I can issue a permit. We would want everyone to access the pit in the same time frame, on the same day, as we will have to staff the gate.
