SLPPOA Water System 1 Pipeline Section Replacement Plan

Starting next week, Tuesday, October 8, at approximately 8 am, we plan to begin replacing 700 ft of main water line on Hovenweep from the Bonito Way/Mesa Verde intersection down past the Hovenweep Well site (border of units 1 & 3).

The duration of this project should take 3-5 days.

Some water supply interruption is to be expected, at least a day outage to drain the line and get started. Please plan accordingly.

We will make every effort to minimize individual water outages. We plan to supply Units 3 & 10 water from the Hovenweep Well. Also we plan to backfeed the 3-4 remaining meters/homes in Unit 1 from neighboring service lines as needed. If you have any garden hoses, 100ft is best, that we can borrow, please place them near your meter can or let us know where to pick them up. Adjacent neighbors, please understand and help by allowing a connection to the few that may not have the normal connection for a week or so.

Just an FYI, this section of main water line is a part of the oldest main water supply piping in Sierra Los Pinos...approximately 45 years old. Our diagnostics indicate this section has the largest leak rate on water System 1, thus the need to replace it.

Thank you for your patience.

Harold Corn, SLPPOA Water
