Water System 1 Pipeline Section Replacement UPDATE

Day 1 (Tuesday) was not a great project day:

Remarking of the underground utilities locators was untimely,
A phone cable was severed due to being marked in the wrong location,
A few essential material parts were back ordered and we were not notified,
We scrambled to locate missing parts from additional vendors,
Hovenweep well pressure switch was erratic, thus we could not supply Unit 3 & 10 in ample water,
Contractor backhoe equipment overheated due to a faulty thermostat,
Installed over 150 ft of new water main pipe,
NM Rural Water Association provided a circuit rider for assistance,
NMRWA circuit rider was able to pick up located missing parts.

Day 2 (Wednesday) was a better project day:

Electrician was able to remedy the Hovenweep erratic pressure controller,
Units 3 & 10 were able to have more water in the afternoon and evening,
Contractor excavating equipment was repaired quickly and put back into service,
Over 300 ft of new water main pipe and service line taps were installed,
NM Rural Water Association circuit rider was valuable and on site again,
Contractor and crew have been outstanding,
Additional parts were ordered and picked up quickly in Albuquerque,
One homeowner was back fed water from a kind adjacent homeowner's frost free hydrant.

Day 3 (Thursday) plan:

The main water line will be completed on this day, in order to do this, the following will occur:
Water service to Units 3 & 10 will cease in order to connect the new line to the existing line,
The new line will be sanitized and pressure checked for approximately 24 hours (hopefully less),
ALL HOMES FROM THE INTERSECTION OF MESA VERDE RD & HOVENWEEP LOOP, ON HOVENWEEP AND ALL HOMES ON THE EAST SIDE OF FR 10 WILL HAVE NO WATER FROM APPROXIMATELY NOON THURSDAY TO FRIDAY NOON! STORE SOME WATER FOR THE ESSENTIALS.
The remaining four service lines and one fire stand will be connected to their respective meter cans or fixtures.

Day 4 (Friday) plan:

Begin to compact and back fill all excavated areas,
Purge and flush the new water line,
Test each new connection for pressure and leaks,
Slowly begin to recharge and return water supply to all properties,
Complete the compaction and back filling of all areas,
Smooth and prepare the road bed subsurface,
Call Sandoval County Roads to bring back, i.e. spread the stored row of millings across the entire roadway.

I want to thank those affected for their patience.
Please note the warning in ALL CAPS above.
