Search for Missing Firefighter Continues - Sept 3 Evening Update (Holiday Incident Search and Rescue)

The search for Jemez Ranger District (Santa Fe National Forest) wildland firefighter, Token Adams, continued today with local, state and Federal agency personnel, volunteers and equipment involved. The steep, rugged, terrain continues to challenge search efforts. Search teams remain optimistic. Firefighter Adams, engine captain on a Jemez Ranger District engine, has been missing for five days. The last communication from him was received on Friday afternoon from Holiday Mesa. He and other firefighters from the Ranger District were responding to a smoke report and searching for the 25-acre Schoolhouse Fire located on Schoolhouse Mesa. The Labor Day weekend allowed numerous groups of volunteers to help with the search effort. Some have been replaced by new volunteers. The Santa Fe National Forest and the Jemez Ranger District thank everyone for their help.
