New Mexico to get rain, snow along with below-normal temps

Forecasters say New Mexico is about to get another big burst of winter weather.

The National Weather Service says a strong cold front is expected to move into the state Wednesday night and Thursday, producing below-normal temperatures and precipitation.

According to a special weather statement, there will be rain and high-elevation snow across most of northern and central New Mexico Thursday night.

Cold and wet and snowy conditions are expected to prevail from Thursday night to Sunday, with the potential for heavy snowfall in the mountains.
