This program within the USDA, called EQIP, can help provide financial and technical assistance for Fire Mitigation, Forest Health, Erosion Control and improve Wildlife Habitat and Water Quality and Availability. It is administered out of the NRCS office of the USDA in Cuba, New Mexico, and the New Mexico State Forestry office in Bernalillo.
A meeting is scheduled for property owners on Friday, Sept 9th in Jemez Springs. It will begin at 10 AM in the Church Tapestry Room, across the street from the Jemez Historic Site (formerly the State Monument). Bring a sack lunch or enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants.
