ATTENTION!

An amendment to the Homeowners Association Act is up for vote this Legislative Session, known as Senate Bill 244.

Your payment information would no longer be private (for Board member use only). Additionally, the duties of your “volunteer” board members will become so onerous that it would most likely become necessary to hire out more management responsibilities, which in turn relates to an increase in dues. Fees can be imposed if demands for records can’t be disclosed with 10 days. Remember most of your volunteers work outside the home and/or have other responsibilities. Dues may need to be increased to cover this additional yearly cost. And these are just the highlights of the proposed changes. PLEASE, write to your representatives immediately. It’s uncertain as to when this will be on the agenda, so your prompt action is requested. You can write to: john.sapien@nmlegis.gov; benny.shendo@nmlegis.gov; Stephanie.garciarichard@nmlegis.gov; and james.madalena@nmlegis.gov, and/or any others.
