Update on injury

Following is information regarding explosive devise on FR 126. Please stay vigilant while hiking in the forest. If something appears “out of place” or "not normal" (i.e. a suspicious looking object), do not disturb it, move away from the area and immediately contact law enforcement.

Subject: Update on injury

The following information related to today’s injury on the Jemez Ranger District (Santa Fe National Forest) has been confirmed:

· The nature of the incident is still under investigation.

· The name of the employee cannot be released.

· The patient is a fire fighter from California; he has been assisting with initial attack fires at Santa Fe National Forest.

· The patient is in “good spirits” with non-life threatening injuries at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque.

· We do not know if the patient has been admitted to the hospital or if he has been released.

· The lead investigating agency is the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; please direct all calls related to the investigation to them.

· We may not release any additional information about this incident.
