Wildland Fire Management Teams (WFMT) such as the Northern Rockies Team managing the Jaroso Fire are specialized to work on long duration fires in remote and difficult terrain. These teams are typically comprised of a small number of highly qualified personnel and are able to expand or contract as the incident changes. Team numbers, or roster, are agreed upon between the team and the administrator of the agency where the wildfire is occurring. The agreement is based on meeting the needs of the incident.
