2015 Annual Meeting and Board Election

The annual meeting of the SLPPOA will be held the second Saturday of September, which is September 12, 2015. There will also be a potluck lunch beginning at 1:00 p.m. Please bring your favorite dish to share and a comfortable chair. We will provide the drinks and table service.

The agenda for the meeting will include the reading of the previous year’s annual meeting minutes, the treasurer’s report, and committee reports for water (maintenance, compliance, meter can installation), roads, architectural control, legal, parks, firewise, community relations, and other notable accomplishments from the year. We will conclude the meeting with the election of new Board members.

The election this year will fill three open positions. The terms for Jack Nyhan, Scott Downing, and Peter Veverka will be ending this year. We have four members who are on the ballot and we’re quite pleased that Jack Nyhan and Peter Veverka have agreed to run for another term, and we thank Scott Bushnell and Terry Vergamini for agreeing to run for a board position. Nominations for candidates will also be taken from the floor at the annual meeting.

Eligibility to vote requires that the member be in good standing (i.e., all assessments are paid in full). Each lot owner is allowed one vote for each board vacancy per lot owned. You will have three (3) votes if you own one lot and six (6) votes if you own two lots. Your votes can be distributed among the candidates as you desire. You may give all your votes to one candidate or distribute them however you wish amongst the candidates. Additional candidates will serve as alternates for any unexpected vacancy that may occur during the year.

Enclosed you will find a ballot and a ballot envelope. Do NOT sign the ballot unless you are assigning proxy to someone else to vote for you. After you have selected your candidate(s), place the ballot in the ballot envelope. SIGN THE BALLOT ON THE STICKER PROVIDED. A Board member will validate your eligibility to vote, so please leave that line blank. Please note that your ballot selection will remain secret, so please do not cross through your name. If the name can’t be verified, your vote will not count. You may mail your ballot, give it to a board member, or bring it to the annual meeting and complete it there just in case there are nominations from the floor.

In order that we have a successful election, it is essential that we have a quorum of eligible ballots returned. Even if you elect to not vote for any candidate, please return your ballot anyway. We need the quorum of ballots.

We must receive your ballot by the election time at the annual meeting on September 12, 2015.

Thank you!
