For your information, SLP has run out of red cinders. The pile that is at the fire station is the County's for county roads, and cannot be used for SLP roads and driveways.The county has asked that we stop using their cinders.
We are actively looking for cinders, and when we have that available, we will send out a notice, along with where it will be stored.

Jemez District FS will be completing the Joaquin prescribed 60 acre burn tomorrow and part of Friday. Location of burn is 3-4 miles NW from Gilman Tunnel, and smoke will probably be visible to us.

Prescribed Burn Planned On Santa Fe National Forest, Cuba Ranger District

SANTA FE, NM – Dec. 12, 2016 – For Immediate Release. Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest are planning a prescribed pile burn on the Cuba Ranger District. The 20-acre Ojitos prescribed pile burn, located just northeast of Rancho Del Chaparral Girl Scout Camp, may begin as early as Wednesday, Dec. 14, only if conditions, including air quality and weather forecasts, are favorable. Fire managers expect to complete ignitions in one day.

Prescribed Burns Planned This Week On Santa Fe National Forest

She was a house cat and somehow got out of our home on 29 Bonito Way, above the well house and north of the meadow.

Cut-Your-Own Christmas Tree Permits On Sale Nov. 21;
4th Graders Can Get One Free

SANTA FE, NM – Nov. 9, 2016 – For Immediate Release – Permits to cut your own Christmas tree on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) go on sale Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Forest Headquarters, all Ranger District offices and select third-party vendors.

In case you are wondering, ignitions were held off today, but FS hopes to start up again next week, weather permitting. Yesterday 140 of the 360 acres were completed.
