System 2 (Units 4-8) should expect random outages during the daytime hours. We will make every effort to resupply water by the end of each day.

Also, expect some electric power interruptions should we find the underground lines too close to the water supply lines.

As the weather warms, campers who like to take advantage of recreation opportunities in the Jemez Mountains will have more options. Three popular campgrounds in the Jemez Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest that have been closed for two years are reopening for the 2015 season.

Firewood permits for dead and down timber are now available for purchase at Santa Fe National Forest Headquarters and most Ranger District offices. The spañola Ranger District will begin fuelwood permit sales on May 4.

The nonrefundable permits are for personal use only and may be purchased for $20 for five cords with a maximum of 10 cords per household per year. Customers may purchase permits by check, credit/debit card or cash through Dec. 31, 2015. Permit purchasers will receive load tags, a fuelwood cutting map and guidelines for harvesting the wood.

A water outage for lower Los Griegos Rd (below the booster station) is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, at 8am for a duration of several hours in order to connect a new branch line on Outliers Rd.

SLP is now experiencing a water outage in Areas 1 and 3. A small temporary pump has been installed that provides about 8 gallons of water per minute. Please do not hord any water, and use for emergencies only.

A contractor has been notified, and will be coming to SLP tomorrow (4/ 15/2015). We will be back to normal ASAP. Hopefully some time tomorrow.
