Additional Resources Arriving For Pino Fire

SANTA FE – Today and Monday, more firefighters and equipment will be arriving in Jemez Springs to strengthen the Type 3 Incident Management organization on the Pino Wildfire.

The lightning caused fire, on Santa Fe National Forest’s Jemez Ranger District, is now estimated at 141 acres. The fire is five miles south of N.M. 4 and six miles east of Jemez Springs. The wildfire is being managed for resource benefit.

Management Activity Increases on Piño Fire

There will be two community meetings held at the Walatowa Visitor Center at Red Rocks Monday, Sept. 1, to inform the public about the Piño Fire and the Forest Service plans for managing it.

Fire information

Firefighting operations on the Pino Fire are gradually intensifying to take advantage of predicted favorable weather. It is expected that conditions on Tuesday, September 2 will be optimal for aerial and hand ignitions to direct fire to holding and control features. Management of the wildfire is under the direction of a Type 3 Incident Management organization.

NO SIGNIFICANT RAIN YESTERDAY

August 28, 2014, Santa Fe, NM

The lightning caused Pino Fire, on Santa Fe National Forest's Jemez Ranger District, is now estimated at 124 acres. The wildfire is being managed for resource benefit. The fire is located five miles south of State Highway 4 and six miles east of Jemez Springs.

Current Water Outages/Reduced Water Pressure in Part of System 1

Due to efforts to install a blow down valve and do leak repairs on the central water supply system of system 1, there are currently either water outages (at higher elevations) or reduced flow/pressure (at lower elevations) from the meadow to nm route 4.
