Bayr is Lost in SLP

Bayr (pronounced Bear) got out yesterday during a thunderstorm in the SLP neighborhood. He has no collar, is terrified of thunder and rain, and will run/hide to get away. He needs daily meds for glaucoma, thyroid disorder and allergies. If you see him or can catch him, please contact Tamara and Shawn Weary at 575-829-4315. Bayr is about 45lbs, ~2ft tall, white Shiba Inu with a tail that’s missing hair.

Lawsuit Determination

Great news! We received news from our attorney, Steve Long, that the panel of judges upheld the decision of the District Court, Judge Davis, in the appeal of the lawsuit filed against the Board of Directors by resident Suzanne Star. A copy of the Memorandum Opinion can be found below and in the Residents/Legal section of this site.

Parking Near the Fire Station

SLP & others,

I have attached a satellite view of the fire station in SLP. On it, I have marked where NOT to park in red. The large area is so that engines coming out of the east doors can make the turn to egress without having to stop & back up. The red area is also pretty much the limits of the FD property, besides the building itself.

Thanks for not blocking our egress, and here's hoping you never need us!

Professional Dog Training Classes in SLP

Jemez Mountain K9s ( is now conducting professional dog training classes in SLP! Group classes are currently held Sunday afternoons at 3PM at the Firehouse.

Sunscreen, water, and hats are recommended.

At the request of the Fire Chief, we do not park in front of the bay doors in case the trucks need to go out on calls.

Notification of a Planned System 1 Water Outage THIS WEEK

On Wednesday, April 24, at approximately 9 am, a group of SLPPOA Water Volunteers will be executing a main line water flow analysis of our System 1 water delivery infrastructure. This testing could continue for approximately 4-6 hours.

It will be necessary for each homeowner service to be shut off for this test to be valid. Normal water residual flow from any main line will not be available.

Water System 1 includes SLPPOA Units 1,2,3, & 10.
